Continue through the fascinating substructure halls of the Palace leading over the huge stairs to the emperor’s main square Peristile. Learn about great Diocletian and purpose of each part of the palace as we stand directly in front of impressive Cathedral of St. Domnius and its 60m high bell tower.
From here, small stairs will lead you to the Vestibul, unique and rare round shaped entrance to the emperor’s apartment. It is not a strange thing to meet a group of singers here, performing traditional music in such acoustic space. Ethnographical museum surrounded by medieval buildings has also found its place here.
While walking through old stone streets that will lead you to the Golden and Iron gates closing the palace, you will hear more than interesting stories revealing the facts about life inside the Palace walls.
Make a wish in front of statue of Gregory of Nin since it is believed that touching its toe brings luck, so over the years, as so many locals and tourist visit the statue, the toe is now smooth and shiny gold.
